The key to improving one’s quality of life for most people is trying to not live in the future or the past, but in the present. So much of our time is spent worrying that we did something wrong in the past, and its going to catch up to us, or worrying that something bad will happen in the future that we forget to notice what is around us, and how our lives are right now, in this particular moment. Of course, we need to look to the future, to save our money and not step out in front of speeding trains, and we need to learn from our pasts, but too much of our time is spend fruitlessly fretting about things that don’t really matter. Probably 97% of the stuff we think and worry about really doesn’t matter. Remember that, and your quality of life will improve.
