Lots and lots of new snow is falling. The deep snow defeated the UTV on the Wu Tang trail, so avoid using it, please!

The rest of the trails were groomed with the snowmobile and roller, for your weekend enjoyment.

news flash! – updates

Beth’s water broke at 4 this morning. They’re off to town to be close to the hospital. Everyone think good thoughts!

Your thoughts paid off. Lucy Jane Leatham was born at 8pm on 11 October. She weighed 6 1/2 pounds and measures 19 1/2 inches long. Everyone is happy and healthy.

Amazingly enough, Lucy Jane is perfect. She has exactly ten toes, no more and no less then ten impossibly long, thin fingers (she will be a pianist or a surgeon, that’s for sure), blue eyes, and Beth even went to the trouble of covering her entire body in a miraculous membrane that keeps her insides in and the outside stuff out. It is breathable and waterproof. It regulates her temperature, too. Magical.
Anybody who knows me knows that I was too chicken to pick her up. I’m waiting for her to be fitted with a protective rubber suit, and to gain about 30 pounds. Then I might hold her in my lap, while sitting in a sturdy Lazy Boy. Maybe.
